Phillip Salus, 50, last known address Alderlick Road, is one of eight men charged, several after they allegedly went to the Warren area to meet a woman they planned to buy sex from. Salus has been charged with solicitation and possession of criminal tools, both of which are misdemeanor charges.

8 arrested in undercover operation

An undercover operation aimed at reducing demand for sex trafficking has led to the arrests of eight men including one suspect who investigators believe was allegedly attempting to recruit an undercover officer into the sex trade, according to Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Warren Police Chief Eric Merkel. The suspects were taken into custody Wednesday, April 18 as part of an investigation by the Warren Police Department and Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, which is part of Ohio Attorney General DeWine's Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.

Officials from the Portage County Jail said 25-year-old Joshua Keenan was arrested and has been booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of escape and theft. "The residents were being called back into the facility, the break was ending, and these two residents went to the fence and jumped over the fence," said NEOCAP Deputy Director Kim Massary.
