The Alamo falling on hard times, $450 million upgrade planned

2 arrested in alleged murder scheme

A Florida man and a McLennan County woman were arrested Wednesday in what McLennan County Sheriff's Office investigators are calling a murder conspiracy scheme. Jason Maples, 36, of Orlando, Florida, and Shonna Lynn Manson, 30, were booked into the McLennan County Jail on conspiracy to commit murder charges after a confidential informant told authorities the couple was planning to kill Manson's mother, Deawathae Holder Manson, of China Spring.

Waco man sentenced to 42 years in sexual abuse of young family member

A 53-year-old Waco man was sentenced to 42 years in prison Wednesday for the 2014 sexual abuse of a young family member. Jurors in Waco's 54th State District Court deliberated about 30 minutes before deciding punishment for Billy Rodriguez, a five-time felon and a former employee at a Waco concrete fabricator.

Fire at Waco plant contained before spreading to dangerous chemicals

Police warned Cossacks of alleged, impending attacks by the Bandidos

A month before the infamous biker confrontation in Waco in May 2015 that killed nine and left 20 injured, law enforcement rushed to Odessa and headed off what they thought would be a violent clash there between Bandidos and the Cossacks, according to testimony Monday in a racketeering trial in San Antonio of two former top leaders of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club.
