A Rialto man suspected of a series of sex crimes against a 14-year-old boy was arrested on Friday, Dec. 7. Alfredo Carranco, 45, was arrested on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor under 10, sodomy with a minor under 14, oral copulation with a minor and exhibiting harmful matter to a minor, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department announced on Saturday. The suspect is a family friend of the victim's family, authorities said.

Just before 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, Rebecca Gallegos, a 48-year-old resident of Rialto, was traveling eastbound on Rialto Avenue near Arrow Route when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a block wall then overturned.

A witness indicated the vehicle was speeding just before the crash, police said.
