About: frisco, texas

Frisco is located in northeastern Texas. It is considered to be a commuter city, as many of the residents work in Dallas. The area where Frisco now sits was settled by pioneers travelling along the Shawnee Trail. This trial was later used for cattle drives north of Austin and eventually became Preston Road, one of the oldest North-South roads in Texas. When the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway came through the area, several watering holes were constructed so the steam engines could refuel. One of these waterholes became the Frisco community, named after the railroad.
