Rain causes headaches for firefighters battling house fire

When firefighters arrived around 1 p.m. in the 10600 Block of Outpost Drive, flames were seen shooting from the roof. Battalion Chief Tony Perez, with the Corpus Christi Fire Department, said the rain hindered the firefighters' vision to get control of the fire.

Suspected man arrested after robbing Whataburger, resisting arrest

A man was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly robbing the Whataburger at the corner of Port Avenue and Baldwin Boulevard. According to Corpus Christi police, the suspect 35-year-old Juan Barrientes got away with an undisclosed amount of money and was hiding for nearly an hour before being caught in front of Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital on Morgan Avenue.
