Fatal accident closes westbound lanes of 91 Freeway in Corona

A crash on the 91 Freeway in Corona on Sunday night turned fatal and the California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert, closing the westbound lanes east of Lincoln Avenue. The SigAlert was issued at 10:06 p.m. Details on the crash were not immediately available, but CHP officers on the scene summoned the Riverside County coroner.

Four-day-old fire near Corona is 85 percent contained

A 154-acre brush blaze northwest of Corona that ignited on Tuesday was pushed by firefighters to 85 percent containment on Saturday. A car fire on the 71 Freeway in Chino ignited the nearby brush Tuesday afternoon, burning 120 acres and shutting down all northbound lanes, officials said.
