The Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology will host a talk on Chico's historic Chinese temple by Keith Johnson from at 11 a.m. Saturday in its current exhibit, "Reimagining Chico: The Archaeology of Our Neighborhoods," followed by a walk to the Chico Museum departing at 11:30 a.m. At the Chico Museum, 141 Salem St., view the temple alter and learn about the Chinese cultural chapter of Chico's history. Johnson, emeritus professor of anthropology, was founder of the Chico State Museum of Anthropology and conducted research on the Chinese community that was prominent in the mid 1800s in our area.
