Carrollton man gets 10 years in prison for stabbing death he committed as teen

A Carrollton man who was a teenager when he stabbed a 65-year-old man to death was sentenced to 10 years in prison as part of a plea agreement. Marcos Andres Jimenez, now 20, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter for the December 2015 stabbing of Romolo Biasatti.

Blotter: Man arrested after fleeing Denton officers and trying to beat freight train

Denton police responded to a disturbance at the Downtown Denton Transit Center on Monday afternoon before the 29-year-old suspect fled from officers and tried to beat an oncoming freight train while attempting to cross the tracks, according to Denton police spokesman Shane Kizer. Employees with Denton County Transit Authority first reported a man in a leather jacket "swinging back and forth into an electrical box," Kizer said, relaying information from the call notes.
