This past September, prosecutors say a Buffalo woman and her dog were confronted by 47-year-old James Craddock, who pulled out a knife and stabbed the animal. An indictment says Craddock left in a City of Buffalo truck after he saw other people getting closer to the scene at Mineral Springs Rd. and Frank Ave. He was later apprehended by Buffalo police.

Officials said 911 centers are suffering because the New York government is diverting the monthly funds collected from the $1.20 fee into the state's general fund BUFFALO, N.Y. - Despite having one of the highest 911 fees in the country, the FCC says the state of New York's dispatch centers are suffering because of legislation that diverts the taxes collected into a general fund. News10 reported that the $1.20 cellphone and landline tax is supposed to be used to improve technology, upgrade equipment and pay employees, but a law adopted in 2009 allows the state to divert 41.7 percent of the collected taxes into a fund that can be spent on anything.

A 65-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle on East Main Street in the village. Westfield police report Thomas M. Baideme, who was not using a crosswalk, was hit by a vehicle exiting the McDonald's parking lot and heading westbound around 9:50 p.m. Sunday.
