Barborak pleads guilty to theft, forgery in Warren

A former Lisbon village solicitor and assistant Columbiana County prosecutor pleaded guilty to misappropriating client funds from her private law practice and then trying to conceal it. Virginia Barborak pleaded guilty Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to tampering with records, grand theft and forgery, the latter of which was reduced from a second-degree felony to a fourth-degree felony.

Man gets 4 years in Fastway robbery

A Warren man Thursday was sentenced to four years behind bars after pleading guilty to a charge of aggravated robbery with a specification that he used a firearm while committing a felony. Timmon D. Wade, 25, 425 Southern Blvd. NW, has been held at the Trumbull County Jail since he was arrested on the aggravated robbery charge Aug. 19, according to jail and court records.

A Trumbull County grand jury Wednesday issued indictments against 26 people. The defendants are scheduled to be arraigned 11 a.m. Jan. 12 before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge W. Wyatt McKay.

Ohio police chief arrested in nude photo exchange with teen

A northeast Ohio village police chief has been detained on a federal arrest warrant for what authorities say was an exchange of nude photos with a 16-year-old girl. Federal court records show that 36-year-old Andrew Soloman, of Warren, was arrested Thursday by members of a task force that investigates cybercrimes and child pornography.
