The city of Temple, Texas is located in central Texas, 65 miles north of Austin and 34 miles south of Waco. The city has been called the "Wildflower Capital of Texas." In 1881, Temple was founded as a railroad town and named after Bernard Moore Temple, a civil engineer and former surveyor with the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad Company that established the town. It was nicknamed by locals as "Tanglefoot" because the combination of muddy streets and liquor made walking a challenge for residents.

An argument between adults trying to resolve a conflict related to school children escalated late Friday afternoon when a 38-year-old woman was shot, police said. Killeen Police Spokesperson Ofelia Mireamontez said it happened in front of a house in the 200 block of Elkins Avenue.

H-E-B buys on-demand delivery service Favor Delivery
