FOUNTAIN VALLEY Two people were arrested Wednesday in connection with thefts from lockers at a Fountain Valley gym, police said. Vehicles lost in Westminster apartment carport fire Sunday night

A two-alarm fire tore through the carports of the Cinnamon Creek Apartments in the 15100 block of Brookhurst Street in Westminster around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. About 40 firefighters from OCFA, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach put out the fire but several cars were destroyed and more were damaged by the heavy flames.

A Costa Mesa man was sentenced to 24 years in prison on Tuesday, May 2, for human trafficking, kidnapping, and burning a woman with an iron. Renice Stevenson Flores-Davis, 28, and co-defendant Oscar Gonzalez-Salinas lived in the same motel as the victim and they recruited the 26-year-old in May 2014 to perform commercial sex acts for their benefit, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
