A Warren man was indicted last week by a special report of the Trumbull County Grand Jury on two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. Marvin Tiggett Jr., 37, pleaded not guilty Sept.

Washington County school districts showed improvement as a group on the Ohio Department of Education report cards for the 2016-17 school year, but superintendents and school leaders remained skeptical of the report cards' value. A man and his mother are being held in the Trumbull County Jail, with the son accused of repeatedly raping a young female relative and the woman accused of not sufficiently caring for the child. Bond was set at $1 million for Richard O. Robson, 19, of Tod Avenue SW, Warren, and at $10,000 for Melissa Ann Altenburg, 40, 432 Tod Ave. SW, following their first appearance Wednesday before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge W. Wyatt McKay.

Three charged after traffic stop

James E. Stewart, 49, Warren; Robert J. Kastanek, 33, 317 N. Madison Ave., Salem; and William David Marshall IV, 35, Warren, were all charged with first-degree misdemeanor carrying concealed weapons after Goshen police officer Ryan Young observed their vehicle westbound on U.S. Route 62 near Smith-Goshen Road commit two lane violations. Marshall, who was also cited for driving under suspension and the marked lane violation, was found to be driving under a suspended license for child support and appeared to be agitated, talking fast and loud and moving a lot.

Trint Cellars, 21, pleaded not guilty to murder and aggravated robbery charges Thursday in his first appearance before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Ronald J. Rice, who is assigned to the case.
