The oversized mixers are working double-time at Mama Jo's pies in Amherst, making thousands of pies for the Thanksgiving holiday. The bakery expects to sell 23,00 pies between Nov. 19 and Nov. 22 at their bakeries in Amherst and Medina, and at several local stores including Heinen's.

MEDINA, Ohio - Medina County Auditor Mike Kovack has released the following information about county finances for the week of Nov. 13-17: Overall revenues for the county this week were $4,133,951.32. The largest income was from the Library Support Fund, at $351,384.85.

Portion of Circle Drive to close Nov. 16

The city of Medina reports a road closure is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 37 Circle Drive on the West loop of the street. This closure is for all traffic and no traffic will be permitted within the area.

Teen and young adult job program sets up shop near Medina square

Pamela Crombie and the rest of the staff at Jobs for Ohio's Graduates have been busy arranging furniture, setting up a classroom and deciding where to plug in the coffeepot and microwave oven in their new headquarters. They plan to have everything in place in time for their grand opening celebration at 10 a.m. next Friday at the offices at 257 S. Court St., Suite 1, across the street from Castle Noel.

Well, that was certainly unexpected! Thankfully, no one was injured in the windstorm that hit us Nov. 5. I was lucky not to lose electricity while people in the north end of town endured up to three days of living without power. I'm sure there was lots of spoiled food and frayed nerves along with a lot of damage.

AKRON: Employees of a restaurant in the 300 block of West Market Street reported an unresponsive man was in the restroom Oct. 26. Police arrived to find EMS treating the Medina man, who regained consciousness and denied using heroin. He told police there was a syringe in his pocket and officers recovered it, along with a bindle of heroin.

Highland bond issue passes; Medina councilman, Medina Township trustee defeated

It was a night of public servant upsets and a school bond issue victory as central Medina County residents cast their votes in today's election. Former Medina Township firefighters Mark Radice and Michael Stopa unseated incumbent Trustee Bill Ostmann, who voted earlier this year to dismantle the township's Fire Department and enter into a fire services contract with the city of Medina.
