The city was established at the halfway point, so that the engines could be cleaned of all the sand taken in and re-filled with water. Spilled a lubricanta on Indio freeway leads to SigAlert, temporary closure

More than 160 gallons of scented lubricant spilled across the lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway in Indio Tuesday morning leading to a temporary closure of all lanes as crews worked to sop up the goo, California Highway Patrol and Caltrans officials said.
