NCDPI sends statewide memo requiring bus inspections following CMS bus fires

A statewide memo was sent to all of the school districts in North Carolina Friday that said certain buses must be reinspected after two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools buses caught fire within the last 30 days. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction sent the memo and said that buses created between 1998-2003 with a "Caterpillar engine" must be inspected again or repaired.

CMPD Launches Exchange Zones for Online Sales

CMPD officially implemented 14 "exchange zones" at local QuikTrip gas stations today, hoping to provide safe spots for people meeting up to carry out online transactions made on websites and apps like Letgo. Zachary Finch, 21, was murdered this summer in broad daylight while trying to sell a cellphone using the Letgo app, which connects sellers with buyers, leaving them to work out a meeting spot.
