Highway Patrol seizes $285,000 in heroin following Summit County traffic stop

A Connecticut man faces charges after Ohio Highway Patrol seized more than $280,000 in heroin following a traffic stop in Summit County Tuesday, authorities said. Renaldo Diaz-Guzman, 25, of Hartford is charged with possession and trafficking in heroin and failure to comply, the Highway State Patrol said.

The city of Akron and numerous area organizations on Thursday launched "Full Term First Birthday," a data-driven initiative to decrease infant mortality and premature births in Summit County through collaboration. Boy Scouts clean up Towpath Trail

Boy Scout Troop 179 from Cuyahoga Falls participated in Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition's Trash 'n' Treat Canal Cleanup event Oct. 21.
