Homicide/DWI charges filed for fatal striking of Lyell Avenue pedestrian

The driver behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck two pedestrians on Lyell Avenue now faces charges that include Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and Driving While Intoxicated. According to the Rochester Police Department, 29-year-old Rochester resident Chermasia C. Collins was traveling east on Lyell Avenue early Saturday at a high rate of speed when she lost control, jumped a curb, and struck two victims who were standing on the sidewalk.
