An 18-year-old Riverside County man who tried to sneak a 6-week-old Bengal tiger cub into the United States from Mexico was sentenced Tuesday, Feb. 20 to six months in federal prison. Luis Eudoro Valencia of Perris pleaded guilty in December to a charge of conspiracy to import tigers.

Two arrested in Eastvale burglary of police officera s home

Riverside County Sheriff's deputies have identified three males, and arrested two of them, in a Dec. 23 break-in of an Eastvale home owned by a Pomona police officer who subsequently fired at them, according to a sheriff's news release issued Tuesday, Feb. 13. Deputies served two search warrants in Eastvale and Perris on Feb. 7. Destin J-Brent, 18, of Eastvale, and a 15-year-old juvenile, who was not identified because of his age, were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and conspiracy.
