Their famous hot springs were once a major attraction for visitors in the early part of the 20th century. Two killed in overturned vehicle freeway crash in Murrieta

Two fatalities from an overturned vehicle crash on the 215 Freeway in Murrieta on Saturday night, Jan. 6, have been identified, according to a Riverside County Sheriff/Coroner's news release. The victims are Genevieve Hines, 21, of Menifee and Cade Deardorff, 20, of Murrieta, according to a coroner's release on Sunday, Jan. 7. The crash was reported on the southbound freeway about 1/2 mile south of Baxter Road at 8:52 p.m. Deardorff was pronounced dead at 9:07 p.m. and Hines at 9:08 p.m., both at the scene.
