A new board member could be appointed Tuesday, Sept. 19

The Hemet school board will interview candidates for an open seat and likely appoint a new trustee Tuesday, Sept. 19. Applicants are Rob Davis, Charles Harwick, Curt Nordal, Erin Plumb, Tamara Savage, Jim Smith, Scott Tilley, Leslie Ventuleth, Michael Wayment, John Willerford and Karena Zermeno.

The driver of a reported stolen vehicle failed to yield to deputies in Moreno Valley on Tuesday and led them on a pursuit through the city that continued east to the San Jacinto Valley, where it ended, according to Riverside County Sheriff's spokesman Armando Munoz.
