About: beaumont, california
Beaumont was first named Edgar Station, after a local physician, and the Southern Pacific Railroad laid its tracks through the San Gorgonio Pass, where current Beaumont is located. The tiny town provided a rest stop to travelers making their way through the Mojave Desert to the area that is now Los Angeles. When it was incorporated to California in 1912, the town once again changed its name to Beaumont, meaning "beautiful mountain" in French. Many episodes of My Name is Earl were filmed in Beaumont, including the opening scenes of the series.
